The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution.   • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Restoring the correct MBR to a hard drive?

I am afraid that I have made a HUGE blunder and not sure how to recover from it.  I used Acronis True Image to to clone the original 80GB hard drive in my laptop and I copied this image to a new 160GB hard drive (including the MBR).  The hard drive works and all, but it thinks it's an 80GB drive (like the former) -- all the statistics are exactly the same.  Is there anyway to fix this problem or am I stuck with a 160GB hard drive that will always think it's 80GB?Start Free Trial
