Need guidance

Hi,
I am writing this email because I need valuable advices from you guys in order to concentrate my career on .Net technologies as an architect and help others to gain knowledge on .Net. I know you guys are busy and programming oriented but I would be grateful to you if you spent few minutes for me. Let me introduce myself first: I am currently working as team lead for a software development firm in Bangalore, india on ASP, VB, COM, XML, XSL and SQL SERVER. I have around 9 years of experiences in the above technologies. For last couple of months, I have been trying to learn .net web technologies but unfortunately I am confused about the followings:

 -   Need to concentrate on asp.net (presentation tier) as I think I should have through idea to become an architect.
-   Need to concentrate ONLY on design pattern, middle tier and application design architecture.
-   Need to concentrate more on UML, XML and SQL etc.
-   Need to concentrate on particular topic such as AJAX etc.
-   Is doing any certification such as MCTS will help me.

 Sometimes I start asp.net and then stop it midway to start design pattern etc. I am really hopeless on what to do next?

Kindly drop few advices if your busy schedule permits!
