I tried all those "device selections" and associated "source options"
Video works fine, but no audio is recorded

on my laptop, Camtasia 5.0, with the following audio options (only one combination available):
device=Digital Mic, option = Sigma Tel High Def)
both video and audio work fine when recording from an application on screen (such as Youtube.com)

unfortunately, it is expedient to do this video and audio recording from youtube.com (for instance) on my desktop. My question is, is there something I can do to get Camtasia to record both video and audio from an application on my desktop?
For instance, can I take "line out" jack on the sound card (connects to the speakers) and build a connection to the "mic in" jack? on that same sound card... and then tell Camtasia that there is an external mic to use as source?
