The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not?   • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Developing applications for Symbian......

Hi all,
           I have just got a Sony Ericsson P910i. I knew almost nothing about Symbian and EPOC and other related things before this. Now I need to develop an application for my 910i. I have searched quite a bit on internet and found out that for Sony Ericsson there is something like UIQ availabale..... I am really confused with all those things.... During my research I have found that development in EPOC or Symbian based systems can done through many ways.....

1) Purchase MobileVb from appforge and develop using VB6....... (This point is clear but I dont have enough budget to avail this facility ~1000$).....
2) Develop using OPL (Open Programming Language)....I need to know what is it and how can I develop applications in it ? Its home webpage is not very good documented and I couldnot found out a good novice level tutorial???? Can you pin point me to the exact tutorial/s where I should start......
3) I have downloaded the SDK for UIQ 2.1 but I am really confused how to use it????? Is there some basic tutorial that teaches how to use it? Can I develop directly in the SDK without using any tools or will I need to buy some tools i.e "development environment" to develop my application in it????

4) One other option that I found was to use C++ BuilderX..... Its size on the downloading site is 600+ MB.... Can it be used? and how?

This is just the starting of  a Series of Questions that I am going to ask about this topic...... I am specially interested in point 2 and 3 above and need some help to clear my concepts.......
