I am looking to start learning about Game DEV

I would like to learn about game development for Iphone specifically but also would like to explore other game dev.

Where would i start, what are good materials to use (as far as books are concerned) What platform would i need to use(software wise)

Just as much detail as possible, and with the Iphone platform is there any additional or specific instructions that would showcase it.

I would be interested in using real video in my games too is well
