how to decompile and then again compile java code

HI Guys

We have Websphere commerce application server running on windows 2000. All java code class files is deployed on this server. There is an error which we need to fix but we dont have the development environment so we need to decompile the code, put debug statements and then recompile the code again.

we tried one open source decompiler, the decompiler worked fine but when we tried to compile the code again it started to give us missing file error. Would anyone know of any tool which can help us on this. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
