The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Client / Server Socket Problem

Asked by trs28 in C++ Builder, Miscellaneous Programming, Development Software

I have a service that has multiple clients connecting to it.  Each connection creates a separate Data Module for the client to make requests then the server handles the requests and sends the results back to the client.  This all works fine.

My problem now is that I need to connect to another service, call this ServiceB, on another machine that is a single threaded service.  I cannot just use each Client's Datamodule to connect to ServiceB because it will not receive the correct information back to the correct client or it will just not get any data back at all.  The Socket I have created seems to work fine, but currently I have a new socket for each DataModule and send data across to the single threaded ServiceB.  I know that this does not work, but is there a way that I can Bottleneck the Calls to ServiceB in somewhat of a queue so that the correct information comes back to the correct client datamodule.  The datamodule must get the information that comes back from ServiceB.

I have tried some different things with TCriticalSections and trying to use the Synchronize method, but just cannot seem to get the answer.  When I use the TCriticalSections, I end up with a memory issue or something to that effect.  Otherwise, if I try to use the Synchronize method, it does not seem like I can get the information back from ServiceB.  I could be using the TCriticalSection and Synchronize method incorrectly.  Any insight on how this could be done would be greatful.Start Free Trial
