Installation of BackupExec agent on AIX

I have downloaded the AIX agent found in C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\Agents\RALUS\AIX. It is called VRTSralusPatch.tar.gz. From what i can tell i should be able to extract the tar in order to run the installation. However when i do the command tar -xvf VRTSralusPatch.tar.gz it throws back an error tar: 0511-164 There is a media read or write block size error.

Can anyone help me out with this?
