The Solution Rating System

Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. How can I fix memory error so I can reinstall Windows on laptop

I got the error message:  Instruction at 0x747390bbb referenced memory at 0x000ab28 could not be written while I was reinstalling Windows XP Pro on my laptop.  I was getting a blue screen error (not death) and thought re-installing Windows would fix the problem.  I think the memory message I'm now getting was the cause of my blue screen.  Anyway, Windows is mostly installed but not completely because of the error.  I'm pretty sure I'll need to start over because of the error and I don't know what might be missing.  I need this memory address problem fixed before I can continue.  

The notebook is a tablet notebook.  Right now, my screen has the keyboard for the touch pen overlaying the user I want to log in as.  I cannot get past it as everything is huge and I cannot move the keyboard display out of the way.
