how to copy .dbx file that is access denied in ms dos and windows

Asked by hognose in MS DOS, Windows XP Operating System, Microsoft Applications

after lsass.exe crashed system went to safe mode but the system did not stabilize, installed second system sp1 without wiping the first os off in order to save files; all ownership was transfered to second system and i saved all files  except Outlook express.  The first system remains as Windows and the seconds system was installed as Windows\XP.  However the .dbx files are in tack and accessible but "floating" and will not respond to copy command whenever i try to copy to d:\ or import into new Outlook Express, or xcopy out of MS Dos into d:\.   I intend to wipe the computer clean and reload everything and start all over if i can recover these files which are very important.  I had them backed up on seagate but my tower set 1 overrode set 2 on my last back up and i lost it all.Start Free Trial
