Recovery algorythem for a RAID 1 containing more than 2 disks

Tags:

Linux, md raid, kernel 2.6.25, 3 disk raid 1 (mirror)

I'm trying to find out what happens in the case of data inconsistencies across 2 drives vs 2+ drives when setup in a raid 1.
Ex. in a 2 drive raid 1 if there are differences between the drives, which drive contains the accurate information?

Likewise, in a 3 drive raid 1 using Linux software raid does anyone know if it looks at all 3 drives if there are inconsistencies to figure out which drive is the odd man out per say?

I'm looking for actually documentation on how Linux software raid 1 functions with 2+ drives as oppose to the typical 2 drive setup.

Thanks
