Shutting of Linux

Hello,

I have UPS from Triplite model Smart 1000R M2U. It is connected via USB to my Win 2003 Server. With a serial cable it is connected to a Linux system. Now in case of power failure I have given command that as soon as UPS is on battery shut off the Windows system and same time I want to write command which UPS software should execute to send shut off signal to linux system.

I saw the option of executing a command statement in software of UPS. There I need to enter the link of bat file in which I will be writing command. Can you help me in this regard how to shut off Linux machine by writing a command in a file which should be executed when windows system is going off UPS software should execute it.

One thing more this Linux machine is accessible to me through IE as http://someIP/admin and there on GUI based page I have option of shutdown button but that is if we want to shut down due to some reason. But I am looking for emergency shutdown when nobody is there and power is out.

I dont have any rights to access the linux from root because it s Wifi Billing system software so I can only access its webpage GUI from windows machine for setting up internet plans.

Looking for response.

Kind Regards,
Wajeeh
