The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Add a view to a view and speed drops

I have the query from some dark region that I'm having to build. So far it is outputting 198 fields (with more to come) from 26 tables and views as a view in a "remote" db proxying back to the original DB and denormalizing the database. :-(

I have a view in the main DB as
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Create V_Cust_Count
AS
SELECT KeyFld, Count(*) As Cust_Count
FROM Cust_Table
GROUP BY KeyFld
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Runs nice and quick as an individual query and/or view.

The super view I'm creating also currently runs quickly. But as soon as I do a:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
FROM MainTable
     LEFT OUTER JOIN v_Cust_Count ON LOAN_APPLICATION.KeyFld=   v_Cust_Count.KeyFld
------------------------------------------------------------------------
My view/query grinds to molasses.

We're using @@version '8.0.1.3156' of ASA Anywhere. The core DB is from a delivered app so we can't really upgrade until they are ready.  Yes, I know a ridiculous amount of fields, but it is being outputted to a SQL Server based cube SW so we have no real choice.
