It seems that two of our iMac stations in our office continue to loose connectivity with each other while running our FTP Client, Cyberduck. It is quite consistent, each time we start a transfer from iMac B we get about halfway through and then the network connection to iMac A ( the one with the external drive) will hang and disconnect from the network. Finder often becomes unusable (requiring a force-quit) and the Cyberduck transfer fails.
Both stations are running the same OS version and are connected via a Gigabit Switch (connected to an AirPort LAN port)
iMac A has an external Western Digital 2TB drive attached via FireWire 800. This iMac is connected to the switch. Finder and OS X often become unresponsive during transfers.
iMac B is connected to the switch. This is the station with Cyberduck that is constantly loosing connection to iMac A.
We are loosing connection during every transfer and restarting the system isn't solving the problem. I do not have the options to move the external drive because of the way ourproductivity flow works in our office. Similarly, we cannot install Cyberduck on the other Mac so I am looking for a solution that solves the connectivity issue.
