Having trouble with Canon Image Runner 3230 on Mac OS X Leopard?

I have a Canon Image Runner 3230 connected to my LAN.  I can print from any Windows box.  However, I can not print to a box running Mac OS X Leopard.  AppleTalk is enabled.  I have tried setting up the printer on two different Mac OS X Leopard laptops.  I installed the Image Runner 3230 drivers that are available from Canon's website.  I have tried installing using the IP address and using the DNS name.  After installing the printer and printing the Mac test page, you get an 11 page document with 10 blank pages and 1 page with:

%!PS-Adobe-3.0
                         %%LanguageLevel: 1
                                                           %% DocumentData: Clean7bit
                                                                                                          %%DocumentSuppliedResou

In the past, I have had the same problem with Macs and Ricoh all-in-one's and was told that solution was to get an optional PostScript accessory.  Does anyone know if this is true with Canon's?

Any other solutions?
