I just moved over to apple from years working with a Windows PC. I have never had issues connecting to my network at work wirelessly from my home PC in the past. I'm now on a Macbook at home and utilize the most recent version of RDC connection. When I plug a CAT 5 cable from my macbook directly to my modem at the house- I never have an issue with my RDC connection to my work windows network. When I unplug the CAT5 cable and am on my wireless network at home using a linksys router - my RDC connection works but freezes up constantly from anywhere to 15-30 seconds and then comes back to life and continues doing that sporadically. It happens so frequently at times that its not even worth working remotely and turns my laptop into a desktop because i have to end up connecting with a cat 5 cable.
i've read that people are having similar issues although haven't seen a solution - does anyone know why this happens and if there is a fix. This has happened at two different locations for me using two different routers, so very confused. Why would it work perfectly when my cat5 is connected but have issues wirelessly. When i'm wireless everything else (internet) works perfectly- only the RDC connection freezes up
any ideas would be appreciated
thank you
